Thank you for your interest in Waldorf Soccer Club!  We are a RECREATIONAL soccer club.  Recreational Soccer is primarily devoted to the enjoyment and development of youth soccer players without the emphasis on travel, high-level competition or steep costs. The purpose of recreational soccer is to provide an opportunity for the participants to have fun, be with friends, make new friends, learn the sport, develop life skills and a lifelong love of the game.

We do encourage parents of players with higher level skills to consider a more competitive program with our partner travel club, FC Charles 1658.  Link: FC Charles 1658 | Home

Our programs run 2 seasons per year – Spring which runs late March to early-June and Fall which runs late August through early November.  There is separate on-line registration for each.  On-line registration begins in late November for spring and late May for fall.

Cost per season for all age groups is $110 for the first child and $95 for all other children in your household.  Financial aid is available for those families  that qualify - see Related Links.  U8-U19 volunteer Head Coaches receive a full fee waiver for one child.

The Waldorf Soccer Club Recreational Program is broken up into three different programs, Kiddie Kicks, Junior Academy and SMYSL (League play).  Our three programs are designed to meet the needs of the majority of recreational youth soccer players from ages 2 to 19 years old.  They are open programs (there are NO tryouts) in which players of all abilities are invited to play and enjoy the game.  Every child is guaranteed playing time in an environment that places participation, fun, and skill development above winning.

The Kiddie Kicks (U4) and Junior Academy Programs (U6) are run by certified coaches to ensure our younger players receive the full attention and proper instruction of soccer fundamentals in a fun environment so they develop love for the game and build up skills and confidence to successfully proceed to more competitive levels of play.  We encourage parents of U6 children to participate in coaching this group.  Many u6 parents continue to coach their child's teams as they progress up the age group ladder.  All practices and games are held at the Bryantown Sports Complex Monday evenings and Saturday mornings.

The U8 thru U19 SMYSL Program are made up of volunteer coaches, that are assigned a team of recreational players, without regard to each player's abilities and skills. The U8, U10, U12, U15 and U19  Rec Teams participate in the Charles County Parks and Rec, Southern Maryland Youth Soccer League (SMYSL).  They practice at local practice fields, playing games against other Waldorf Soccer Club, La Plata Youth Soccer Association (LPYSA), Southern MD Youth Organization (SMYO) and Pisgah Soccer Association Recreational Teams at the Bryantown Sports Complex in Waldorf, MD, the Laurel Springs Regional Park in La Plata, MD and other local Charles County Parks.

If you are interested in volunteering as a coach or assistant coach for a U8 to U19 Rec Team or have additional questions about any of the programs, please contact us at info@waldorfsoccer.com.
